Joe Dubbiosi
Born in NYC then later moving to New Jersey, Joe has always known that his life would be filled with making and teaching music for so many. He was one of only a few in high school who knew exactly what he wanted to be when he went to college. Joe loves playing with Kangaroo Jones. These guys have not only written great songs but they have also become great friends. He enjoys the originals but when they play the covers, there is a real neat groove. The songs sound close to the artist but they add their own subtle touches to make it rock the Kangaroo way. Joe’s musical training started when he was FIVE. Dad is a classical pianist and Mom was an opera singer. He spent many nights with his parents at the Amato Opera house in New York where he saw and heard more opera than most people hear in a life time. Joe started as a classical violinist studying at Julliard School and later getting his degrees in teaching and his Master’s in Orchestral Conducting at New Jersey City University. Joe's He loves R&R, Rhythm & Blues, Jazz and of course Classical. “There are so many things to listen to I would never have the time to hear it all.” Teaching high school music, he strives to instill this in is students as well. “Why keep listening to same stuff all the time? It’s like eating the same food everyday! Joe has played in many bands in the past: Funk bands, Top 40 style vocal bands, Wedding & Party bands and an Original Country artist, but this by far, he says, is the most fun. “All these guys are so good they help to bring my best to gig all the time” Joe’s greatest accomplishments in music have been performing as a classical violinist in many concerts including Avery Fischer Hall at Lincoln Centre, a performance on WQXR radio.
